HKTDC Hong Kong Jewellery Show: the essential event

The HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show is a must for jewelry enthusiasts and professionals worldwide. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), this annual event takes place in one of Asia’s most dynamic economic and cultural centers: Hong Kong. Bringing together the best jewelry designers, brands and manufacturers, the show is an exceptional showcase for innovation, expertise and luxury in the jewelry industry.

HKDTC: The must-attend event for the world of jewelry

Since its creation in 1987, the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), has established itself as a leading event in the jewelry industry. In 1989, the show’s move to the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center marked a turning point in its development, bringing together the most prestigious players in the sector. The show’s meteoric growth is striking: in 1998, it already attracted 770 exhibitors. This figure rose rapidly to reach 2,360 exhibitors in 2009, then 4,550 in 2018, confirming its status as a global platform for professionals.

HKTDC: One show, two complementary events

In 2014, HKTDC strengthened its offering by launching a second parallel show: the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, dedicated to rough gemstones, pearls and materials for jewelry. This duality between the two shows enables optimal segmentation: on the one hand, finished jewels and exceptional collections; on the other, nature’s raw treasures. Both events take place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre and AsiaWorld-Expo respectively.

Theme pavilions: a journey to the heart of jewelry

The salons are organized into thematic zones to offer visitors an immersive experience. The “Hall of Extraordinary” presents luxury collections mounted with diamonds, jade and pearls. The “Hall of Fame” brings together leading international brands such as Giorgio Visconti and Lao Feng Xiang, while the “Designer Galleria” showcases avant-garde creations by designers from around the world.

On the materials side, the “Hall of Fine Diamonds” dazzles visitors with large diamonds, while “Treasures of Nature” and “Treasures of Ocean” offer collections of precious stones and pearls respectively.

In parallel, national pavilions showcase the expertise of different countries and regions. Each pavilion showcases the expertise and creativity of its own culture, creating a truly international mosaic of styles and techniques. These dedicated spaces not only encourage the discovery of global trends, but also promote exchanges between international players in the sector.

Side events to enhance the experience

In addition to exhibits, the show features a rich program of events. Jewelry shows, seminars and forums offer an insight into market trends and enable participants to forge strategic links. The gala dinner, a real highlight, combines elegance and exclusivity with fashion shows highlighting exhibitors’ creations.
